This three-day gathering brings together academic leaders, healthcare educators, administrators, clinicians, and mission-driven professionals from across the nation to strengthen partnerships, exchange innovative ideas, and reimagine the future of mission-focused healthcare education.

Submission Deadline:  November 30, 2026

The 2027 CHACU Conference invites abstract submissions exploring the intersection of healthcare education, clinical practice, and healthcare administration under the theme “Building Our Future Together.” We seek proposals that address the unique challenges of collaboration between healthcare education and healthcare providers.  Of particular interest are success stories of collaboration that benefits healthcare educators and healthcare providers. Join us in sharing innovative strategies, research, and case studies to strengthen the workforce pipeline and protect the integrity of academic offerings.

 For those wishing to submit a presentation proposal choose the theme that best categorizes your presentation. 

  1. Collaborative strategies: Formulate collaborative strategies that align healthcare workforce demands with institutional educational curricula.
  1. Funding and allocation structures: Analyze shared funding and resource allocation structures used to advance healthcare education and clinical practice.
  1. Interprofessional Initiatives: Design actionable interprofessional initiatives that improve local healthcare delivery.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Session Format

Each Concurrent Session will be 60 minutes in total and should include:

  • 20-minute individual or group presentation
  • 40-minute facilitated discussion promoting participant engagement, reflection, and collaboration

Submission Guidelines

Proposals must include:

  1. Session Title
  2. Conference Theme Alignment– Indicate which theme(s) your session addresses
  3. Educational or Institutional Context
  4. Learning Outcomes– 2–3 clear, measurable takeaways for participants
  5. Interactive Elements– Description of discussion, activity, or engagement method
  6. Names and Positions of the Presenters– Include full name(s), academic/professional title(s), and institutional affiliation(s)
  7. Abstract (250–300 words)

  • Submission deadline: November 30, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: December 14, 2026

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated for:

  • Relevance to theme and mission
  • Evidence of innovation and applicability to health care education
  • Opportunities for active learning and participant engagement
  • Clarity and coherence of objectives

Awards and Recognition

  • Welcome back to Mary Grace Simcox who is now serving as the founding president of St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences (pending Pennsylvania Department of Education approval; currently known as St. Luke’s University Hospital-Bethlem).  She reports that she’ll be in the position for a “short time”.
  • Please join CHACU in honoring Charlene Aaron, who has been recognized as a Most Influential Minority in Healthcare for 2024!
  • Bryan College of Health Sciences announced Dr. Amy Knobbe as its new provost and Dr. Kelsi Anderson as president.  Their appointments began July 1, 2024.
  • Congratulations to Cam Cruickshank, who has accepted a position as the inaugural leader of the Greater Cabarrus Foundation. The attached article provides some great detail about Cam and his new position.
  • The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences announced Amy DeMelo-Wutke, Ed.D. as its new president. Her tenure will begin on June 24, 2024.
  • The Aultman College Class of 2024 Radiography Program placed 4th place at the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technology (OSRT) Student and Educator Symposium, Quiz Bowl competition. The Quiz Bowl is an annual radiography trivia competition held by the OSRT.
  • Dr. Andreia Nebel Appointed President of Clarkson College
